My name is Jamie, the hands behind Jamie’s Hand Engraving. I’m an engraver, and all round maker based in regional Queensland, turning raw materials into lasting pieces of art.
By day, I work in digital spaces. By night, I return to the slower world of traditional craft. My creative journey began with drawing and pen-and-ink illustration, and grew through bookbinding, woodworking, and toolmaking. engraving became the natural meeting point of these passions.
At Jamie’s Hand Engraving, I create forever objects, items that are not just used and discarded, but remembered. Each piece is made with intention using old-world techniques and tools I’ve often built or modified myself. I work with Australian stones, reclaimed metals, and sustainable methods, because lasting value comes from effort and authenticity, not excess. For me, hand engraving is the culmination of this journey. It’s precision and artistry, permanence and legacy.
It’s a way to leave a mark, literally and figuratively
This is not fast fashion. It’s slow craft, built on patience and integrity. If you value objects with story and substance, I hope my work resonates with you..
